Denver, known as the Mile High City, also has high expectations when it comes to coffee. With over 12 local roasters, there is certainly no shortage of delicious local options to get your caffeine buzz going.
It just so happens that our beloved properties Belmont Buckingham Apartments and Nuvo Apartments are located in the heart of coffee heaven. Living in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood means a beautiful, tree-lined walk to so many incredible local businesses. We talked to our residents and staff, and we came to the conclusion that these are the five best coffee shops in Capitol Hill.
Top Five Coffee Shops in Capitol Hill
1. Thump Coffee – 1201 East 13th Denver, CO 80218
This stunning space on 13th Avenue features exposed brick, plenty of seating for work or play, and outdoor seating that’s perfect for spending one of Denver’s 300+ days of sunshine.
What to order: Smashed avocado toast and a latte

2. Amethyst Coffee Company – 1111 Broadway Street – Ste. 101, Denver, CO 80203
The interior of Amethyst has a dreamy, Scandinavian vibe. They offer incredible small batch coffee roasted across the United States. One of our employees is from Michigan, and was thrilled to see that she could order a pourover of Madcap coffee, roasted in Grand Rapids, MI!
What to order: A honey cinnamon latte

3. Hudson Hill – 619 East 13th Ave, Denver, CO 80203
Hudson Hill is much more than a coffee shop – it’s one of the best destinations in Cap Hill for coffee, cocktails, and conversation. This hip spot is one of our favorite date night locations, and they make incredible lattes, a classic old fashioned, and grilled cheeese!
What to order: A lavender vanilla latte, the golden root turmeric latte, and a chocolate chip cookie

4. Pablos Coffee – 630 E 6th Ave, Denver, CO 80203
Pablo’s was one of the first coffee roasters in Denver – and their experience shines in their delicious range of blends. Their 6th Avenue location is cozy, funky, and their staff is so friendly! We love grabbing a latte with a friend and relaxing in their retro inspired space.
What to order: A dirty chai and a homemade pop tart

5. Anecdote – 820 N Sherman St, Denver, CO 80203
Anecdote is brand new to the area, and we welcome them with open arms! In addition to serving coffee, food, and drinks – they hope to encourage and inspire creativity by offering plenty of space to create, collaborate, share ideas, and even participate in one of their workshops.
What to order: A cappuccino and sign up for a workshop!
